And So It Begins

I didn't sleep at all last night. In fact my alarm clock has yet to go off, I just can't lay in bed anymore. In a little over 2 hours I board a plane for Philadelphia, with a layover in Atlanta, and truly began my Peace Corps adventure. The 15 month application process was just the warm up.

Ok, alarm bell just rang! Time for a shower and a cup of coffee. Maybe I'll get to post in Philly, maybe not. Stay tuned....

Diane...it truly has begun! Your dream of serving in the Peace Corps is now a reality! I wish you great success in your projects...in your inevitable education...and in your life experiences. You are doing what many merely "wish" they could do! To take a dream and make it happen requires a special person! Of course...I know you are a special person! You are so awesome and in so many ways an inspiration to those you don't even know! Be safe...be true to yourself...and most important...be yourself! You have always marched to the beat of your own drum...now that drum beat is African! I am so proud of you and love you so much! I will look forward to your correspondence and to eventually sitting down with you, to hear everything about your adventure! I love you! - Dad
